This afternoon I walked up to the Harvard campus to get my Summer School ID card. I'll be taking a class there two nights a week for 8 weeks starting Tuesday. I am used to having my last name misspelled, but I just noticed that my ID card, which is actually only a temporary one, spells my first name "PAMEA". :-) I spent part of the walk back considering all of the other things I could have bought with the very large sum of money I spent on this class: plane tickets to foreign destinations, a new computer, a digital camera, a new wardrobe, an iPod, etc. but finally came to peace with the idea that education is worth much more than any of that. I hope so.
